The less than one year old heirloom cacao grafted mother plants already started to practice producing cherrels. <Wait… cherrels? Mr. Cacao, please enlighten us…>

cherrels are immature pods of 10cm length

These mother plants are under the care of Balrly Valenzuela and his team. As part of the PDS team, we also train them to become plant propagators. Personally,  I am glad to see high survival in their first try in grafting.  It is now a question of developing their speed thru experience. ?

From the bottom of my cup of sikwate, good job Team PDS Atipuluan! – Chris

  1. We have 2 types of cacao in our backyard. I want it to be examine, if is possible to be a good propagate for my future farm in Cogon, Sorsogon. Question is, where will i give the pods specimen?

    1. Hi Charles..Good morning!
I would suggest you take some pictures of you trees and if you have some pods to do a formal seed cut test, It could give us an indication of the variety. The picture of the pod outer layer and pod wall thickness as well as internal seed color is what we want to see.
      Thank you.
