The recently concluded Ilocos Cacao Level Up Techno-Forum was a blast! Our TeamPDS knew rest was only for the weak in mind and body. Well, hats off to Mr. Elias Sandig, Jr. and Mr. Manuel Carpio, Jr.
September 30, 2017 was at the Badoc Auditorium and started with a good batch of 90 willing and interested farmers. They have already learned new and exciting ways to cultivate their high-value crops in Ilocos.
The amazing realization was “Cacao can allow us to earn more than we expected!” Well, through the help of our TEAMPDS who was present, the farmers intently listened and participated.
Plantacion de Sikwate does not promise the moon but rather, they promise a brand new start. This was immediately seen by the participants. The second month of the -BER series kept them up and about to make sure 50 cacao farmers had the proper learning on how to plant, cultivate, and care for the high-value crop. Cacao happens to be the most sought-after crop to propagate these days; especially when Plantacion de Sikwate stormed the heavens on finding the Criollo – the rarest and most aromatic variety of cacao.

To keep you abreast as to why there are two different sets of officers for Ilocos – the Regional Chapter Officers and the Municipal Chapter Officers.
The former is tasked to come up with meetings, and Chapter activities; the latter makes sure that each and every farmer groups within their vicinity know the cascaded directives. The Solsona Ilocos Norte batch of the Level Up Cacao Techno-Forum ended with a meeting with Ehler Aguilar.Looked like #TEAMPDS had some unlimited #happyhormones for they even had the extra energy to meet with the PDS Municipal Chapter heads. To a successful run of the Ilocos Norte PDS Cacao Level Up Techno-Forum, salamat mga kabsat!
